Guild Wars 2 news » October 2018 Community Showcase

It’s October! October brings us falling leaves and cooler nights and pumpkin-spice-flavored everything. It also brings us the monthlong Inktober initiative, another edition of our Community Showcase Live art livestream, and that happiest of holidays and the most fantastic of festivals: Halloween and Shadow of the Mad King!

Let’s take a look at some fine images representing the busy month of October:

by_sassmasterhareth

Sassmasterhareth joined the Inktober initiative with this image of the official Day 2 prompt, Tranquil, spotlighting the regrowth of Siren’s Landing.

Valynxia undertook a commissioned piece for Kianga Snowstorm that features Keeya Snowtail. Who can resist a purple cat in a hat?

by_pulledrosepetals

Using a daily choice from our own Guild Wars 2 Inktober prompt list, pulledrosepetals created an image for Ghosts of Ascalon.

by_rhacodactylus

Rhacodactylus tells us, “And the Mad King says… ‘Happy Halloween, everyone !'”

by_wemuststopvoldemort

Talk about ingenious! Artist wemuststopvoldemort went into great detail in their design of a vampire bat griffon skin.

If you’re an artist, crafter, or maker of Guild Wars 2–related creations of any kind, please consider sharing your work on the official Guild Wars 2 Tumblr (easy submission guidelines here) or in our official Community Creations subforum.

Our next Community Showcase Live livestream will air on Halloween! (You can catch the August show here.) Join us Wednesday, October 31 at noon Pacific Time (UTC-7) on our Twitch or YouTube channels, or catch the video later in our YouTube archives.

And here’s a heads up for creators: the next themed show is Wintersday so…you know what to do!
