Guild Wars 2 news » World vs. World: Midseason Report
For the past three weeks, the first World vs. World season has been packed with intense battles for power and dominance. North American and European worlds have been divided up into three leagues apiece, and the worlds within those leagues are pairing up in a contest to see who is truly the most powerful and battle-savvy.
With half of the season remaining, there’s still time to get in the fight and help your world win ultimate glory.
Gold and Glory
Every week you participate in WvW, you’re rewarded for your efforts! At the end of each matchup, players who fought in the Mists are awarded bonus chests based on their world’s performance. Get up to three chests every week for fighting for your world’s glory. In addition, everyone who completes the Premier Season Veteran meta achievement will receive:
- the title of Veteran of the Mists,
- a WvW Season 1 Reward Chest Key, which will unlock a special chest at the end of the season which contains rewards based on your world’s ultimate performance, and
- a Mini Dolyak.
On top of that, participating players on the top three worlds in every league will be receiving a special finisher that represents their success. Remind your enemies of your battlefield prowess with a first, second, or third-place finisher!
Standings
Visit our North American and European leaderboards to see how each league is shaping up! There, you can see each world’s season rank, total points, and the number of times that world has placed first, second, or third.
Think that your world is locked into its position and your contributions don’t matter? With 1, 3, or 5 points awarded based on your world’s performance each week, a crucial win (or loss!) has the opportunity to dramatically impact your world’s standing.
Worlds that have been trading places or are very close to each other, like Sorrow’s Furnace and Henge of Denravi in NA Bronze or Jade Sea and Piken Square in EU Gold, need to consistently bring their best performance to the remaining matches, or they’ll find themselves falling out of contention.
Fun Facts
Eight worlds remain undefeated, beating every opponent they’ve faced so far.
- North America: Blackgate, Fort Aspenwood, Henge of Denravi, and Sorrow’s Furnace
- Europe: Vizunah Square, Desolution, Drakkar Lake, and Ruins of Surmia
The closest victory so far goes to Darkhaven in the North American bronze league, for snatching the week two victory from Ferguson’s Crossing by a mere 2,156 points.
