Hearthstone - Heroes of Warcraft news » Here are your Tavern vs. Tavern 2017 winners!
The road to respite has been long and arduous, and it’s finally at an end. Here at BlizzCon 2017, we’ve witnessed the triumphant conclusion of the inaugural Tavern vs. Tavern showdown between RazerStore SF and The Cave.
Tavern vs. Tavern kicked off in October. 66 teams duked it out in the round robin stage, which required them to use pauper rules while building their decks—meaning they weren’t allowed to include any epic or legendary cards in their deck lists.
The top 16 taverns moved on. Those teams went Wild in the playoffs. Each player on a team of three had to choose a different class to bring to the table, and they had to play a Wild deck to boot. Legendary cards weren’t allowed, either—that is, until the teams were broken into two groups of eight to draft eight neutral Legendary cards that HAD to be placed in each of the team’s three decks.
There was concern, careful consideration, and chaos! But RazerStore SF and The Cave advanced to play at BlizzCon. Only one team could stand triumphant, and that team was The Cave.
The Cave squared off against RazorStore SF in the Tag Team Fireside Brawl. When one player was defeated, the next in line tagged in to Discover the next deck from the classes on screen, and to carry on the match.
The Cave fought hard, and it’s now time for them to enjoy their success, secure in the knowledge that they have made history in the inaugural Tavern vs. Tavern tournament at BlizzCon 2017!
Congratulations once again to The Cave!
