Hearthstone - Heroes of Warcraft news » Meet the Teams: Red Reserve
With Season 2 of the Hearthstone Championship Tour (HCT) underway, the exciting new pro team standings program is now in full swing! Official esports organizations fielding three-person Hearthstone teams are now vying for the highest combined Competitive Point (CP) total.
An astonishing 50 teams are taking part in the inaugural pro team season. Starting today, we’d like to introduce you to a few contenders to follow as the season progresses.
Introducing Red Reserve
Comprised of three star players—Julien “Cydonia” Perrault, Louis “Mitsuhide” Bremers, and Elias “Bozzzton” Sibelius—the Red Reserve roster is one that should be on your radar throughout the year.
“Our goal is to rank as high as possible,” says Cydonia. “It used to be that we just focused on [HCT] Playoffs or Last Call—now, with pro team standings, we have another goal.” His teammates concur. “I think we have a good chance,” says Bozzzton (who chose this handle in honor of his cat!). “We’re a strong team. We want to get as high as possible—top five, at least.”
I really think the pro team standings are a huge improvement for the whole community. It brings out fans and makes it easier to support a team.
All three of these players have long histories with competitive Hearthstone. Having joined Red Reserve early this spring and now competing together, however, opens new doors for all three players. Whether it’s the support to attend tournament events, the additional exposure, assistance securing sponsorships, or simply having a robust pair of practice partners, all three feel good about their relationship.

“We work really well together,” says Bozzzton. “I like the chemistry we have, and the fighting spirit is there for all of us. We have a lot of fun together, too, and I think that’s very important when you are competing together.”
Mitsuhide echoes this sentiment: “I would say my strength is making a good lineup. Cydonia’s strength is refining the lists with stats—he’s the analytical guy. Bozzzton is just an insanely technical player.”
Surveying the Field
Taking home one of the prizes for a top 10 placement in the standings—from $750 per player for tenth place, up to $7,500 per player for first—is a no laughing matter for the team. “The top 10 is going to be stacked,” says Cydonia. “It’s easy to look at teams with ladder players and think they should do well, but [HCT] Championships will affect that a lot.”
Interviewed separately, all three players identified the same opponents as tough competition. “Tempo Storm, Fade2Karma, and Nordavind are the toughest competition,” says Bozzzton. Cydonia added that Nordavind “seems like they have a lot of really good ladder players.”

The competition doesn’t scare them, though. “I feel very comfortable with the team,” Bozzzton says. “We met each other at events before getting together, and I was friends with Mitsuhide previously.”
I’m really happy with my team. I think we should be in the mix for top 10 for sure.
In closing, Cydonia says, “Pro team standings is a super-good idea. I’m excited to see the standings and what’s at stake.” He hopes to eventually see more team tournaments, as well. “People really enjoy those,” he says. “And as a player, it’s super motivating to play in team tournaments and work with your teammates.”
Thanks to all three members of Red Reserve for their time! With so much talent teaming up to compete in pro team standings, exciting happenings are ahead—and Red Reserve seems poised for success with their positive attitude.
