Heroes of the Storm news » Relive the Heroes of the Storm London Launch Event
The portal to the Nexus has officially opened, and bands of brawlers are leaping into Heroes of the Storm! To mark the release, we held a live-streamed launch celebration in London, England on Monday, June 1. Check out the highlights from the event below:
Viewers got an inside look at the game as Heroes of the Storm Game Director Dustin Browder answered questions, discussed Blizzard’s take on the genre, and then unveiled the trailer for the newest Hero to brave the Nexus: Johanna, the Crusader! He was joined on stage by two of Blizzard’s senior artists, Phill Gonzales and Luke Mancini. Luke wowed the audience with a live display of his artistic talents, creating the incredible image below over the course of the evening.
And it wouldn’t have been a Blizzard event without some top-notch costumes! Some of the world’s best cosplayers took to the stage to showcase their mind-blowing creations.
It was only fitting that the portal to the Nexus burst open in explosive fashion! Heroes-style avatars of hundreds of players began warping into battle via an amazing projection mapping display.
Adding a final, electrifying touch, renowned producer/artist Madeon took to the stage to wrap up the evening’s activities. Players at the launch celebration also had a great time playing the game at the event, and were ready to leap into the brawl from home as the night drew to a close.
