League of Legends news » Top Eight Challenger Circuit Teams Head to Regionals
Summoners!
As this year’s Challenger Circuit comes to a close, the Regional Finals at Gamescom and PAX Prime are on the horizon! The top eight teams from each regional Challenger Circuit will compete for $150,000 in prizing and three spots at the Season Two World Championships. This year’s tournament structure is similar to last year: teams will be seeded into a single elimination tournament based on their rank in the Challenger Circuit. Check out the graphic below to see how the tournament works.
Every team competing in the Regional Finals earns a slice of the $150,000 prize pool, and the top three teams at each tournament will earn a spot in the Season Two World Championships in Los Angeles! There, the 12 best teams from around the world will compete for $2 million in prizing and the right to call itself the world’s League of Legends Season Two World Champion. Tune in August 16 through August 19 to watch the European Regional Finals at Gamescom and August 31 through September 2 for the North American Regional Finals at PAX Prime.
