Diego "Quas" Ruiz is an anomaly in competitive League of Legends.
Both in his playstyle and in his circumstances in entering the LCS, Quas goes against the status quo and constantly challenges what is accepted in the competitive League of Legends scene. While most players who make the journey to the LCS from other regions are Korean or European, Quas marks the only player who has made the trek to the NA LCS from South America.
On the Rift, the Venezuelan is known as one of the most knowledgeable pro players in the competitive scene. This was most exemplified when he was picked up by Curse in 2013. Because of his former experience in the mid lane role, Quas was able to help transitioning mid laner Joedat “Voyboy” Esfahani. The two constantly exchanged ideas about the game and their improvement in their respective roles was notable through the 2014 season.
With the transition to Team Liquid in the 2015 season, Quas remains one of the leaders of redefining the top lane meta. He played 13 champions in 18 games in the Spring Split, and with his adaptability and awareness to make plays on every one of them, Quas' individual skill and versatility will be instrumental in Liquid's Playoffs run and Worlds hopes.
