League of Legends news:
The next stop on our League of Legends World Tour brings us to Europe, where we’ll be making a stop in the Mediterranean country of Spain.
To a foreigner, Spain might conjure images of picturesque beaches, delicious tapas and red-caped matadors. Well, luckily for vacation planning, you will be pleased to know that Spain does in fact have all of these things. One thing you might not realize, however, is that Spain also boasts a flourishing gaming community filled with passionate and dedicated online gamers.
While gamers in Spain were initially unfamiliar with games in the MOBA genre, gravitating instead toward FPS and MMORPG titles, the arrival of League of Legends in November 2009 began to change this dynamic. Driven by the passion of its members, the League of Legends community in Spain has been growing at an amazing rate, primarily through summoners recommending the game to their friends and showing off their skills at the many gaming social occasions throughout the country.
Although they generally prefer to do their everyday game playing from home, this doesn’t mean that the summoners of Spain don’t have an extremely social gaming community. Spain is home to more LAN parties than any other country in Europe, with over 50 public events taking place each year. Some of these LAN parties, such as Euskal Encounter and Campus Party, have years of history and feature not only tournaments, but also numerous fan contests and activities. There is even a bar in Barcelona that hosts each and every major League of Legends tournament live stream, enticing hundreds of summoners to watch their favorite pros do battle with one another on the Fields of Justice.

In the next patch you’ll be seeing a new aura item making its way into the item shop on the Fields of Justice alongside with a couple of remakes for old classics. In addition to a new spin on Emblem of Valor and Stark’s Fervor, you’ll now have the option to purchase the Locket of the Iron Solari to round out your arsenal. These remade aura items, along with the new one, should bring you more options throughout the early and mid game.
The Item Formerly Known as Stark’s Fervor
The base stats of Stark’s Fervor grant a substantial Attack Speed bonus, a stat that primarily benefits a team’s Attack Damage carry. In addition to its base stats, however, Stark’s Fervor also grants additional Attack Speed and Lifesteal as an aura. And while these stats are shared to the rest of the team, the primary beneficiary is still the Attack Damage carry.

Greetings Summoners!
Sometimes, you want to go a little crazy. Sometimes, you want to throw caution to the wind. And sometimes, you want to blow stuff up just to watch it explode. If you agree with any of the previous statements, we should have a conversation about Ziggs, the Hexplosive Expert.
The first thing you’ll notice about Ziggs is that he doesn’t get anything for free – it requires a strong throwing arm and keen aim to get the most out of him, trading safety and caution for massive damage opportunities and insane poke. Ziggs bounces – a new skill shot paradigm – bombs along the ground at his foes and blasts them to smithereens, providing he can predict his enemy’s movements effectively.
Welcome to the Ziggs Patch Preview, summoners! In the Patch Preview, we’ll be looking into gameplay changes for existing champions, items, and other gameplay, as opposed to information about Ziggs himself. In this episode, we’ll be talking about changes to the critical strike mastery, Jax, and Lee Sin. For more information about these updates, take a look at the video!

IntelEM World Championship Teams Announced
With the results of IntelEM Kiev in, the points have been tallied and the teams for the Intel Extreme Masters World Championship have been announced. With Three Chinese, Four North American, five European teams, and a $100,000 dollar prize pool, the World Championship will be the largest League of Legends tournament yet! The attending teams are listed below:
IntelEM Global Challenge Kiev, the first official Challenger Circuit event of Season Two, is officially in the books. Many veteran competitors met to do battle on the Fields of Justice at the Cybersports Arena in Kiev, Ukraine, but, it was previously unknown challenger Moscow Five who seized the first title of the new season. This has catapulted them both to the top of the standings, and into the global spotlight. We look forward to seeing more from this up and coming Russian powerhouse as we approach the Grand Finals in Hannover, Germany.
The most prestigious live events across North America and Europe comprise the Challenger Circuit. A team secures their place on the Season Two leaderboard by placing in these high-profile tournaments and earning Circuit Points. These Circuit Points will place teams into the official Season Two standings, ultimately deciding which competitors advance to the Regional Championship. There, teams will have the opportunity to secure a spot at the Season Two Championship!

Our next stop on the Tour is one of the most influential communities in online gaming history: South Korea. World renowned for being on the cutting edge of the online gaming scene, Korean players are some of the most passionate, dedicated gamers in the world. Whether they’re competing from home on their lightning fast internet connections or out at the PC bang socializing with other gamers, Korean competitors can be found in high-ranking positions in virtually every competitive gaming ladder the world over.
As you might expect, with all this passion and enthusiasm for online gaming, the Korean market is saturated with games from both foreign and domestic developers. Needless to say, all this competition makes it a formidable proving ground for any game. We were fortunate to find, however, that Korean players welcomed League of Legends with open arms! Game Plus, a gaming magazine in Korea, even went so far as to proclaim that League of Legends was “writing a success story” in Korea. While we’d love to take all the credit, this success story was actually written by thousands of players who rushed to sign up the moment the doors opened to the platform on the 11th of December 2011.
They say that art has a lot in common with a deranged, pyromaniac scientist with an affinity for high explosives: you never know when something spectacular might happen! So when Kienan Lafferty informed us that he’d just blown the lid off the splash art for Ziggs, the Hexplosives Expert, we were excited to see that he wasn’t just blowing smoke.
Please enjoy this high speed rendition of Kienan Lafferty showing us just how incendiary the art for Ziggs turned out!

Attention, fashion-inclined summoners!
Back in November, we held a t-shirt design contest in which we promised to make the winning entries available for purchase! Well, we’re pleased to announce that as of today the winning designs are now available on the League of Legends section of JiNX.com, for the first time in both men’s and women’s sizes.
The winning t-shirt designs can be found below, so be sure to take a moment to leave a comment congratulating Sermyn, Morphogenetics and Psyko Penguin’s on their winning entries.
Many of you have noticed that it’s been a while since the last yordle joined the League of Legends. Since we’re aware that yordle enthusiasts can have something of a short fuse, we wanted to assure you that we have another of these pint-sized heroes coming your way. So just to clarify, there’s absolutely no reason to get batty, bonkers, manic, mental, out of hand or in any other way out of control.
As an example, we might start to get a little worried about you if we caught you scribbling down something like this:
Summoners!
We’re pleased to announce that the latest update to our Co-op vs. AI game mode will be arriving soon, featuring an onslaught of brand new bots. We’ll be expanding our roster of AI opponents to 40 total bots, providing a much larger variety of enemy team compositions. That means new tanks, new mages, new carries and new support champions to battle when you take to the Field of Justice alongside your friends in the Co-op vs. AI game mode!
In addition to a veritable army of new opponents, we’ve also upgraded the bots with more intelligent behavior. You’ll find that the bots not only have better map awareness and team coordination, but can also now deploy skillshots and use activatable items. And what’s more, we’ve made each and every one of them available on both Summoner’s Rift and – for the first time ever – Dominion!
Whether you’re looking to test new champions, tactics, or builds, this legion of new bots will provide an excellent training ground to hone your skills!
For a full rundown on exactly what you can expect from the new and improved Co-op vs. AI experience, check out the video below!
