If you haven't had a chance to check out Minecraft Realms - Mojang's multiplayer server service - now is a great time! Besides the obvious benefits (server is set up for you, no messy maintenance, easy to customize), it comes with a massive list of custom maps and mini-games to try, at any time! Switching out maps is fast and easy.

In the picture above is a game called CastleRise, where each team has a castle, and while protecting your prince, you must attack the enemy’s prince. There’s a build phase where you can buy and place structures such as walls, siege factories, and moats. When the build phase is over, it’s time to attack! It's weirdly addictive, and definitely worth checking out.

In addition to the large number of group-based maps, there are a number of maps designed for one player, or a small group of friends. Adventure maps, mini-games, and much more await. 8 new maps were recently spotlighted over at Mojang, take a look: click here!
