Minecraft news » Minecraft Wii U Edition (Finally) Confirmed
Nintendo has announced Minecraft: Wii U Edition for launch next Thursday, December the 17th!
As expected, the game will feature off-TV play on the GamePad controller, likely involving inventory and menu controls. Allegedly, Nintendo said it is working with Mojang on special theme packs, presumably skins and texture packs, as with other console releases. No further information on this is currently available. This release will also mark the first new console release for Minecraft since Microsoft's acquisition of Mojang, hopefully easing any concerns players might have had about the company keeping it exclusively on consoles it owns, or had prior agreements with.
Some content packs will come included with the game's release, while others will be available as add-ons from the shop.
