Minecraft news » Mod Spotlight: Throwable Torches

Continuing with the recent trend of "useful, but not massively overhauling mods", today's spotlight focuses on something you didn't know you needed, but should definitely check out: Throwable Torches, by tool_user!

The mod is pretty straightforward: combine a torch with a slimeball, some clay, or magma cream, and get a new torch that can be thrown very much like a snowball. It will stick to any surface it touches, and can cause a small bit of damage to anything living that it might hit (though it might be easier to just smack that zombie with a sword). From a utility standpoint, it's hard to dispute the utility of Throwable Torches - lighting up caves, ravines, and build sites from nearly anywhere in line-of-sight is so useful, it's a wonder this was never added to the base game!

The mod is available for 1.7.10, grab it by clicking the box below!
