Starcraft 2 news » MLG Summer Arena Starts This Weekend
The MLG summer season is kicking off with the Summer Arena this weekend. The Arenas have always provided the highest density of top-quality games, full of Korean stars and Western heroes. In past seasons they have been Pay per View, but thanks to a partnership with Full Sail University, MLG is now offering the stream for free!
The Summer Arena will see the top finishers from the MLG Spring Championship join those who qualified online in a battle for a $26,400 prize pool, and seeds into the Summer Championship next month. Cast by Artosis, djWHEAT, Day[9], dApollo, and MrBitter, and featuring players from Korea, North America, and Europe, this Arena is as sure as always to provide top-quality eSports entertainment. Not only does the player pool include the usual crop of star pro-gamers, this Arena is also full of extremely strong lesser-known players such as Sasquatch, ESC.Daisy, and Cytoplasm. Upsets are likely to be the order of the day as some of these dark horse players will assuredly seize the spotlight.
Previously, the stream for the Arena events had been Pay per View. However, this time, MLG’s partnership will Full Sail University has allowed them to provide the main stream in standard definition for free. To view it in HD, and to gain access to the Premium Stream (which will include additional games), you’ll want to purchase a weekend pass.
