Starcraft 2 news » NASL Season 2 Grand Finals - A Champion is Crowned
Season 2 of the North American Star League came to a close last Sunday as the final 16 players from the season battled it out for their slice of the $100,000 prize pool and the title of NASL Season 2 Champion. Hosted by some of the brightest names in eSports, fans were not disappointed as the nonstop action culminated in what is clearly becoming one of the hottest rivalries in StarCraft II!
After three intense days of battle, the stage would be set for two of the game’s finest to face off in a rematch of DreamHack Winter’s 2011 Championship. Team Liquid’s Song “LiquidHerO” Hyeon Deok, fresh off his victory at DreamHack, had made his way through the bracket in dominating fashion to once again be met by Team Evil Geniuses’ very own Lee “EGPuMa” Ho Joon, for what was sure to be a battle of epic proportions. They did not disappoint.
Much like their last matchup, PuMa and HerO split the first two games with a win each, but the events played out differently after that. PuMa responded with strong consecutive wins in the next two games, and even though HerO showed a glimmer of hope thanks to a convincing fifth game, PuMa was able to close out the series in game six, taking the match 4-2 overall.
Please join us in congratulating two-time NASL Champion, EGPuMa!
