TERA news » Reaching Level 60? Child's Play!
On July 18, a group of friends known as Team GSG9 began an amazing charity marathon: to take a character in TERA from creation all the way to the level cap…without logging out. They created Winnebago, a popori lancer, on the Jagged Coast server. The live video stream of Winnebago’s adventure played constantly on En Masse’s big lobby TVs, and cheers regularly erupted as he advanced. Two people traded off playing Winnebago from the Island of Dawn to argon-infested Northern Shara.
Six days later they succeeded. An impromptu party erupted in Kanstria as Winnebago turned in the quest that filled his final bubble. The many people watching GSG9’s live stream cheered. Supporters flocked in. GMs materialized. The goddess Velik even chimed in with a personal message.
At last check, Team GSG9 exceeded their goal and raised $1225 for Child’s Play, a charity that improves the lives of hospitalized children by donating toys, games, and game systems to hospitals nationwide. The GSG9 MMO-a-thon is now closed for donations, as the team beat its goal of $1000, but you can still donate to Child's Play and support this good cause. And you can visit Team GSG9 on their Twitch TV page.
Everyone at En Masse congratulates you, Team GSG9! Thank you for sharing your journey with us!
