World of Tanks news » Announcing The Veteran's Challenge

Tankers!

Wargaming is proud to announce a special November eSports event in honor of Veteran's Day in the United States and Armistice Day internationally. We've created three tournaments for the month -- tier 8, tier 6 and tier 4 -- with the top two tiers offering cash prizes to the top finishers.

In addition, the cash prize will be directly influenced by the peak concurrent user numbers on the North American cluster during the month of November and the total participants in the tournament, with the base value being $30,000 USD. For each person above 30,000 logged in, we'll increase the prize pool of the tournaments. What's more, Wargaming will also donate an amount equal to the peak concurrent user number to Veterans charity organizations, split evenly, to Homes For Our Troops, National Military Family Association, Operation Homefront, Paralyzed Veterans of America and AMVETS.

Even if you're not planning on participating in the tournament, you can help directly influence the prize pool of the tournament and the amount donated to the continued care of our veterans when they return home from duty. All you have to do is log on each night--the typical peak time for North America is 6:30PM PDT, so the more logged on the more impact on the prize pool and donation. Tell your friends and join us in setting new heights for peak concurrent numbers, eSports prize pools, and most importantly: making sure veterans are taken care of.

Curious what the current number of players online is? You can see it in World of Tanks, when logged in, up in the top-left corner of the game client:

Tournament Options

There are three tournaments available to choose from: a tier 8 tournament with a $24,000 prize pool*, a tier 6 tournament with a $6,000 prize pool** and a tier 4 tournament with a gold-based prize pool***.

* - Prize pool based on 80% of peak concurrent player record in the month of November plus overall tournament participants across all three tournaments.
** - Prize pool based on 20% of peak concurrent player record in the month of November plus overall tournament participants across all three tournaments.
*** - Prize pool based on peak concurrent player record in the month of November plus overall tournament participants across all three tournaments.

Please note that the tournaments will all take place at the same time, so a team should only sign up for a single tournament; you will not be able to participate in all three.
