We've been working really hard on the features, content, and systems for PvP in Diablo III and I wanted to take some time to provide an update on where we're at.
In patch 1.0.5 we introduced some components to allow you to build a cursed portal device called Infernal Machine which allows you battle "uber" versions of some of the most malevolent mischief-makers this side of New Tristram…in pairs.

We've recently issued several rounds of account bans for cheating in Diablo III. In each of these cases players used a hack program for exploitive purposes, for example to zoom out their game view and kill monsters that were beyond the normal range at which AI is triggered. As we do with all Blizzard games, we will continue to monitor Diablo III for cheating and take action as needed.

In patch 1.0.5, level 60 players will be able to forge a cursed construct called the Infernal Machine, allowing them to battle "uber" versions of some of the most malevolent mischief-makers this side of New Tristram…in pairs. While the rewards for defeating these extra-bad bosses will be great, some assembly is required.
The armies of the Burning Hells are about to become a lot more hellacious. In patch 1.0.5, we'll be introducing Monster Power, a new system designed to give players more control over how challenging enemies are in each difficulty setting.

Patch 1.0.5 is currently in development and now available for testing on the PTR. This patch introduces Monster Power, a new system which will allow you to adjust how challenging monsters are across each difficulty, and the Infernal Machine, an event that will pit players in Inferno against "uber" versions of some of Sanctuary's most nefarious bosses. Patch 1.0.5 also includes several bug fixes, UI improvements, and additional class and item balancing.
In the coming months, we’re planning an update to Battle.net that will give you more control over your online presence when playing Blizzard games. Soon, World of Warcraft, StarCraft II, and Diablo III players will be able to select “Appear Offline” as one of their Battle.net social-status options (along with Available, Busy, and Away) for those times when they want to wander Azeroth by their lonesome, dominate the galaxy in radio silence, or slay demons in solitude.
In just one week, World of Warcraft players will be able to explore the long-lost continent of Pandaria. We're taking a close look at defensive skills vs. incoming monster damage in 1.0.5. We’re going to be changing a few defensive skills for each class, including some direct nerfs to skills like wizard Energy Armor and barbarian War Cry - Impunity.
