This weekend, Moscow Five shocked the League of Legends world by claiming victory over North American powerhouse Team Solo Mid at IntelEM Global Challenge Kiev! Their prize includes $12,000 USD and a guaranteed spot at the Intel Extreme Masters World Championship in Hannover, Germany!
Making their debut at an in-person event, this previously unknown Russian team took down an impressive series of experienced international contenders on their road to the grand finals. Their secret weapon seemed to be unique, aggressive counter jungling tactics that left their opponents confused and on the defensive.
Ultimately, Team Solo Mid proved the only contender in attendance capable of taking a game off Moscow Five, but even these world renowned competitors fell in the face of their unorthodox adversaries. We look forward to seeing more of Moscow Five when they take to the Fields of Justice again at the World Championship.

IntelEM Global Challenge Kiev is official underway, with eight teams from North American and Europe coming together to compete one final time before the World Championships in Hannover, Germany. With $32,000 and the final qualifying positions for World Championships on the line, the competition at the Cybersports Arena is sure to be fierce!
Last week, the IPL Killing Spree Tournament Series kicked off with Counter Logic Gaming defeating A Picture of a Goose in a decisive 2 – 0 victory. This week they will be defending their position as King of the Hill against challenger Curse Gaming.

Tomorrow marks the beginning of the next stop for the Intel Extreme Masters Global Challenge. The top League of Legends players in the world will gather in Kiev, Ukraine starting at 11:00 (UK Time) and concluding on Sunday, the 22nd of January. The matches will feature the top professional League of Legends teams from all over the world, including Team SoloMid, Team Dignitas, Curse Gaming, SK Gaming, White Lotus, Moscow Five (Formerly known as Empire), Against All Authority, and Sypher. With this many household names in the mix, it’s anybody’s guess who will take home the $12,000 grand prize!

Earlier this week we took a look at some of the contenders traveling to Kiev to do battle in Group A this weekend. Today we’ll be recapping all those competitors poised to compete in Group B. There’s plenty of talent to go around in this tournament, so this group promises to be just as exciting to watch as its counterpart!

In December we announced our intention to begin removing the Dodge stat from League of Legends over the course of the next few patches. Since then, we’ve been systematically remaking all those champions and items that relied heavily on Dodge in order to ensure that they fit into the post-Dodge meta-game.
As of this week’s patch, the final remakes have been completed including Sword of the Divine, Ninja Tabi, and Jax, the Grandmaster at Arms. With the completion of these updates we will be officially bidding farewell to the Dodge stat, and have removed all Dodge runes from the League of Legends Store. Players who chose to re-purchase their dodge runes for use in the interim will be receiving a refund for these purchases over the course of the coming days.

There have been a lot of moving and shaking heading into IntelEM Global Challenge Kiev, but, at long last, the bracket has been finalized. As some of our more discerning lore-hounds may have anticipated, Sejauni, the Winter’s Wrath, is charging in as our next upcoming champion. We wanted to take a moment to talk to you about her gameplay, and what you can expect to see.
Hailing from the Freljord, Sejuani combines raw, physical might with the chilling ice of her homeland. After slowing enemies with her Frost passive on auto-attacks, she can activate her Permafrost ability to drastically increase the slow and inflict damage. This allows her to continuously disrupt enemy movements and create a threatening presence – a necessity of any primary tank.
Welcome to the Sejuani Patch Preview, summoners! In the Patch Preview, we’ll be looking into gameplay changes for existing champions, items, and other gameplay, as opposed to information about Sejuani herself. In this episode, we discuss the removal of dodge as a global stat in League of Legends. We are pleased to announce that the first phase of our new Colorblind Mode will become available in the upcoming patch. This new mode will allow players who are affected by deuteranopia (red-green colorblindness) to better distinguish between friendly and enemy health bars and spell effects during gameplay.
