Starcraft 2 news » The WCS Global Finals Returns to BlizzCon

With a $500,000 prize pool—plus additional prizing from the War Chest—and global acclaim on the line, the ultimate StarCraft II tournament returns to BlizzCon this November.

For the sixth annual World Championship Series (WCS) Global Finals at BlizzCon, eight players from the WCS Circuit will join the top eight players from Korea at the BlizzCon Opening Week group stage on October 26. For three days, these powerhouses will do battle in a double-elimination, best-of-three group stage. Only eight will make it through to play in the quarterfinals at the Anaheim Convention Center on November 2 for a shot at the championship.

With premier tournament wins already under their respective belts, Joona “Serral” Sotala, Lee “Rogue” Byung Ryul, and Cho "Maru" Seong Ju have already qualified for the WCS Global Finals. Keep it locked to wcs.starcraft2.com to keep track of them and the 13 other masterclass players who will join them in the fall.
