Starcraft 2 news » The Iron Squid Tournament – Grand Finals

The Iron Squid tournament has pitted 20 world-class StarCraft II players from across the globe against each other, to battle it out for a juicy prize pool of $25,000 USD. Only four were able to fight their way through the qualifiers and make the cut for the Grand Finals on May 5.

Han “aLive” Lee Seok for Fnatic, Moon “MMA” Sung Won for SlayerS, Lim “NesTea” Jae Duk for Incredible Miracle and Kang “Symbol” Dong Hyun for TSL have proven to be exceptional players who deserve an exceptional venue for their final showdown.

The Iron Squid Grand Finals will take place at the Grand Rex – the largest cinema, theater and concert hall in Paris. The Grand Rex is a landmark of art deco architecture, and features the largest screen in all of Europe. It’s also capable of seating up to 2,800 people.

The Iron Squid Grand Finals will be shoutcasted live by two famous duos: TotalBiscuit and Apollo and Pomf and Thud.

The British duo of John “TotalBiscuit” Bain and Shaun “Apollo” Clark have shoutcasted many top-notch events, such as DreamHack Summer 2011. Here’s what TotalBiscuit had to say about the Iron Squid:

“We’ll have the pleasure of providing the English stream and myself and Apollo are completely hyped for it. Casting games of this caliber is a privilege and we hope to bring you all the excitement as we bring this tournament to a close in an explosive manner. Do yourself a favor and don’t miss out.”

French shoutcasters Alexandre “Pomf” Noci and Hadrien “Thud” Noci are perhaps the most active casters in France. They’ve shoutcasted first-rate events such as the ESWC Paris, and are known for their flamboyant style of casting.
