IEM Season XI - Shanghai is the kickoff event for IEM Season XI, where 16 of the most skilled StarCraft II players outside of Korea will vie for their share of a $50,000 USD prize pool and 5,000 WCS Circuit Points over this four-day event. The winner will claim a $16,000 USD cash prize and 1,000 WCS Circuit Points.

The IEM Shanghai will host 16 players in a single-elimination bracket. All matches besides the finals will be a Best of 5, with the latter being a Best of 7 contest.

Total prize pool: $50,000 and 5,000 WCS Circuit Points divided among all competitors. Awards will be distributed as follows:

  • 1st Place: $16,000 and 1,000 WCS Circuit Points
  • 2nd Place: $8,000 and 700 WCS Circuit Points
  • 3rd – 4th Place: $5,000 and 450 WCS Circuit Points
  • 5th – 8th Place: $2,000 and 300 WCS Circuit Points
  • 9th – 16th Place: $1,000 and 150 WCS Circuit Points

All attending players qualified to IEM Shanghai via qualifiers:

  • Regional Qualifiers
    • 3 qualifiers were held which granted two slots each: a qualifier for the region of Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, another for North America, and another for China.
    • 3 qualifiers were held which granted one slot each: a qualifier for Latin America, and the region of Oceania/Southeast Asia/Japan, as well as the region of Taiwan/Hong Kong/Macau
  • Server Qualifiers
    • 1 qualifier for Asia/Oceania
    • 1 qualifier for Europe/Africa
    • 1 qualifier for the Americas

  • North America: Neeb, MajOr, Hydra, and puCK.
